Terms of service
Draft for review: fill in the governing jurisdiction, payment terms and delivery windows before this page goes live. Nothing here is legal advice.

1. Who these terms are between
These terms cover work StarterLens ("we", "us") does for you ("you", "the client"), including free audits, paid page rewrites and related on-page work. By asking us to start, you accept them.
2. The free audit
- Free, no obligation, and yours to keep whether or not you hire us.
- It is an analysis of publicly visible pages: your ranking page and the pages ranking above it for a keyword you nominate.
- It is not a guarantee of anything, and it is not a full technical SEO audit of your website.
- We may decline a request, for example if the business is outside the trades we work with.
3. Paid work
- Scope is agreed in writing before we start: which pages, which keywords, what gets delivered.
- Payment terms: [e.g. 50% upfront, 50% on delivery]. Invoices are due within [e.g. 14] days.
- Delivery: first draft within [e.g. 10] working days of receiving what we need from you, plus one round of revisions.
- Ongoing changes beyond the agreed scope are quoted separately.
4. No ranking guarantees
Search rankings are decided by search engines, not by us. We do not promise a specific position, a specific timeframe, or a specific amount of traffic. What we commit to is the work described in the scope, and to telling you plainly what the evidence shows, including when it shows something that costs us a sale.
5. What we need from you
- Accurate information about your services and service area. We write from what you tell us, so wrong input produces wrong output.
- Access to the pages involved, if you want us to work inside your site.
- Feedback within a reasonable time. Projects that stall for more than [e.g. 60] days may be closed and re-quoted.
6. Intellectual property
- Once paid, the content we deliver for you is yours to use and edit.
- We may keep the right to describe the work in general terms, for example "a garage door company in Denver", without naming you, unless you ask us not to.
- Send us your logo, photos or copy and you confirm you have the right to use them.
7. Confidentiality
We keep what you tell us about your business to ourselves, and we do not publish client data or rankings without permission.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim connected to the work is limited to the amount you paid us for that work. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost revenue or lost rankings.
9. Ending it
Either side can end an engagement in writing. You pay for work completed to that point; we hand over what has been produced and paid for.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction], and disputes go to the courts of [jurisdiction].
11. Changes
We may update these terms. The version in force for your project is the one published when the project was agreed, and the date at the top of this page shows the latest revision.
